Meet the Team

Liz photo.jpeg
Liz Hood, she/her
Owner & Operator

Primary walker, boarding host, and dog massage therapist in training.

Previously, Liz owned and operated Liz's Pet Care Services in Seattle, WA, where she gained extensive experience in dog walking and boarding. Her professional knowledge of running a pet care business translates into reliable, expert attention that ensures every walk, stay, and massage is delivered with individualized care and attention.

A life long animal lover, Liz has always shared her home with pets. Currently, between the two of them, Kit and Liz have four dogs.  Pablo (chihuahua mix, 9), Clover (dachshund, 8), Fred (dachshund mix, 7), and Lola (basset hound, 5), as well as four chickens, Betty, Shirley, Polly, and Phyllis, and a not so mini pig named Olive, also knows as Olive the Parkrose Pig.

In addition to spending her days with her critters and yours, Liz enjoys knitting, thrifting, cooking, hanging with friends and family, or relaxing with a glass of wine and a true crime documentary...typically on the couch with a lap full of pups.

Kit O'Boyle, they/them

Back-up walker and boarding host.

While Kit spends part of their week indoors as a community based mental health nurse, they prefer to be outside with a dog by their side.

Kit has had a dog in their life since their early 20's and loves to cuddle, snuggle and play with just about any pup.

When Kit isn't working they are usually in the garden, taking a nap or watching Bob's Burgers with their kids.

A little more about in-home boarding with Parkrose Dog...

We're a family of dogs lovers!

Please read on to learn more about in-home boarding with us to ensure we're a good fit for you and your pup.

In-home boarding in a loving, family environment - fully fenced yard - no kennels - dog visitors sleep where they are comfortable (couch, dog bed, our bed...wherever they like) - you supply the food, we supply the treats (please make us aware of any food allergies) - daily updates with photos - flexible drop off & pick up times - typically one adult is home at all times but on occasion dogs may be alone up to 4 hours.

We accept a limited number of dog visitors at a time (typically dogs from one household at a time only, though sometimes there are overlaps by a day or two with dogs from another household; we also accept multiple household boarding requests over major holidays).

Who makes up our family: Liz & Kit (adults), four kids ranging in age from 10-17, plus our three small dogs: Pablo, Clover & Fred, one medium dog: Lola, and our outside pets: Olive the Parkrose Pig, and Betty, Shirley, Polly, and Phyllis (our chickens).

What to bring: anything to make your pup more comfortable!  Do please be mindful of sending things that may trigger resource guarding in your dog - that may be items like beds, blankets, toys, bones - you know them best but I've found it is common for dogs to behave differently in different environments.  Bring any medications, as well as their collar, harness and leash.

Happy Tails & Grateful Owners

"I saw Liz mentioned a couple years ago on Nextdoor.com, phoned and was interviewed, knew right away that my dog was in love with her.  Now, an additional dog later Liz is one of the family, has a key to my home which I rarely give out. Highly recommend."

— Ralph S, Auggie & Padme

"Liz is the most trustworthy and thoughtful petsitter we've had.  She checks in every day, takes fantastic action shots. She's flexible with my crazy schedule and always seems to anticipate my needs - consistently going above and beyond. Liz feels like an extension of the family and I feel lucky to have found her."

— Kristen H, Bear & Sitka

"Liz has been taking wonderful care of my dear sweet Bogey for the past 2 1/2 years while I am gone for business or on vacation.  I had full confidence in her when I met her for the first time and saw her interact with the little guy.  Liz provides daily updates with sweet words and photos, showing lots of play and love. Bogey misses Liz every time I return home and is always looking forward to next time."

— Erica L and Bogey
